Why we built it
CDL Wordle started the way most good esports projects do — as an argument. Somebody claimed the group chat could never unanimously name a full CDL roster from memory, and the obvious response was to make a game out of it. The daily board launched first: one mystery Call of Duty League pro per UTC day, six guesses, the same worldwide answer. From there the hub grew into nine modes covering every way fans actually argue about this league — deduction, stats recall, roster knowledge, typing speed and plain trivia.
Where the data comes from
Every player profile, ring count, major win and organization trail on this site is part of a curated database we maintain by hand, cross-checked against public league records and trusted esports coverage. When rosters change, the database changes, and every game mode inherits the update at once — the games, the player pages, the franchise pages and the news desk all read from the same source of truth. Historical championship data on the CDL champions page is verified against multiple public sources.
How the news desk works
Our pipeline checks trusted Call of Duty League sources several times a day. When something happens — a signing, a release, a Major result — we write a short original brief in our own words, attribute the source outlet with a link, and push it to the news hub and the homepage feed. We never republish full articles; briefs are summaries with context added from our own database.
Independence & contact
CDL Wordle is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Activision, the Call of Duty League or any franchise. Player names and team marks belong to their respective owners and are used here in a purely informational, fan context. The site is free, funded by unobtrusive ads, and stores nothing about you on a server — game stats live in your own browser.
