Why CDL Grid is the hardcore mode

CDL Grid takes the Call of Duty League database and folds it into a nine-cell logic puzzle. Three teams run down the rows; three conditions — a nationality, a role, a ring threshold, a win count — run across the columns. Every cell demands a professional who satisfies both its row and its column at once. You get one attempt per cell, and you cannot reuse a player anywhere on the board.

That no-repeat rule is what separates this mode from a trivia quiz. The obvious answer to one cell might be the only answer to another, so you have to plan the whole board like a sudoku of rosters. Do you spend a well-traveled veteran on the easy intersection, or save them for the cell with only one possible name? Every grid is generated to be fully solvable with nine distinct players, so a perfect 9/9 is always there — you just have to find it.

Know the intersections

Success here comes from knowing the scene's crossroads: which Europeans won a ring, which SMGs bounced through three organizations, which ARs stack major wins without a championship. It is the deepest knowledge test in the CDL Wordle hub, and the natural next step once the daily puzzle and Career Path feel easy. Use the player database and team pages to study the intersections, then come back and chase the perfect grid.

Grid FAQ

How does CDL Grid work?
Rows are CDL teams, columns are conditions. Click a cell and name a player who matches both. One attempt per cell, no reused players, nine cells total.
Is every grid solvable?
Yes — each grid is generated and verified to have a full solution using nine distinct players before it is served.
What counts as playing for a team?
Any organization in a player's recorded history counts, including franchise rebrands (for example NYSL counts as Cloud9 New York).
